Process Fit
When to Choose EDM Machining
EDM machining is often selected when conventional CNC milling, turning or drilling cannot efficiently produce the required geometry. Because EDM removes material through electrical discharge instead of cutting force, it can machine hard conductive materials, deep cavities, narrow slots and sharp internal features.
Simple flat surfaces may be more cost-effective with CNC milling service. Round parts may be better suited for CNC turning service. Through profiles and plate-like parts may be better suited for wire EDM service.
