Customers who frequently collaborate with Baosheng know one thing well – it’s almost a given – that our overall strength is exceptional. This strength isn’t just in one area but spans across many, including CNC machining, die casting, sheet metal fabrication, 3D printing, injection molding, surface treatment, and both equipment and personnel. Today, this Custom Mirror Polished4 Axis CNC Milling&Turning Parts perfectly showcases our comprehensive capabilities.

The CNC machining methods used for this product are not extensive; it primarily involves CNC turning and 4-axis CNC milling. The material used for these CNC turning and milling parts is stainless steel 304, with a mirror polished surface treatment. Let’s get down to business and take a detailed look at this product together.

When my dear customer sent me the first 3D product design drawing, I immediately noticed that this product was relatively simple and required a polished surface finish, specifically to a mirror polished level. First, based on the 3D drawing provided by the customer, we devised a plan:

From the overall shape, this product leans towards a conical form. When purchasing materials, we opted for stainless steel 304 cylindrical rods for material reduction manufacturing. This ensures that during the first step of turning, we maintain both the precision and the surface finish of the product, as stainless steel 304 is known for its smooth and clean surface, natural luster, and lack of noticeable flaws or scratches.

For this cylindrical material to be machined into a cone-like shape, the first step involves CNC turning. Let’s take a look at the product after the CNC turning process is complete:

Based on the completed CNC turning machining of the product and in conjunction with the customer’s 3D drawings, the general shape has been finalized. However, there are still missing grooves around the periphery, and these grooves are relatively irregular.

Therefore, we opt for 4-axis milling instead of 3-axis milling due to the limitations of 3-axis machining, which only allows movement along the X, Y, and Z linear axes. This restricts the complexity of parts that can be produced, limiting operations to basic features such as simple directional slots, pockets, and holes.

It is evident that the grooves on the customer’s 3D drawings cannot be accommodated by 3-axis milling. With 4-axis machining, there is also minimal tolerance for small grooves, ensuring that no defects such as tool bouncing on the surface occur.

After machining with 4-axis milling, the semi-finished product appears exceptionally refined, displaying a good gloss even without the final polished stainless steel surface treatment. However, it is evident that this level of finish does not meet our customer’s requirements. Additionally, our customer has requested us to engrave the letter”F”at a specified location. After completing the peripheral groove machining, we utilized laser engraving on the small end of the conical side for precise engraving of the letter. The customer specifically instructed us to use the hole on the outer wall for positioning during laser engraving to ensure accurate placement

After laser engraving the letters, we will proceed to the last step, which is to mirror polished stainless steel surface treatment for this Custom Mirror Polished CNC Turning & 4 Axis CNC Milling Parts:

1.Rough grinding or preliminary polishing:Use coarse abrasives or grinding tools to remove surface roughness and irregularities in preparation for subsequent polishing processes:

2.Fine polishing: Use fine abrasives or polishing compounds to progressively reduce minor imperfections and flaws on the surface, making it smoother.

3.Liquid polishing compound: Apply a specialized chemical solution to further enhance surface glossiness and smoothness.

4.Mirror polishing: Use specialized polishing cloths or media to perform the final mirror polishing. This step typically involves meticulous manual work or high-precision mechanical polishing equipment to ensure the surface achieves a high level of smoothness and reflectivity.

5.Cleaning and inspection: After polishing, clean the surface to remove any residues of polishing compounds. Then visually inspect the surface to ensure there are no defects or scratches.

6.Protective treatment: Apply surface protectants or coatings to safeguard the mirror-polished surface from environmental factors such as oxidation, corrosion, or fingerprint contamination.
