Why Choose Baosheng
Built for Engineering Buyers
The CNC turning workflow is designed around drawing review, manufacturability feedback, diameter and thread inspection, material selection, finishing coordination and clear RFQ communication.
Factory-direct turning workflow
Engineering review and production coordination handled within one manufacturing workflow.
Thread and diameter review
OD/ID, thread depth, grooves, shoulders and concentricity risks are reviewed before machining.
Prototype to low-volume production
Suitable for engineering samples, pilot builds, bridge production and repeat custom parts.
Inspection documentation available
Dimensional reports, thread gauge checks, material certificates and FAI can be arranged based on project requirements.
Process Fit
When CNC Turning Is the Right Process
CNC turning is suited for round or cylindrical components where the part rotates while cutting tools create diameters, shoulders, grooves, bores, tapers and threads. It is often the most efficient process for shafts, bushings, pins, spacers and fittings.
For flat surfaces, pockets, plates, housings or brackets, CNC milling service may be more suitable. Parts with both rotational and milled features can be reviewed for mill-turn machining.

DFM Guidance
Design Details That Affect CNC Turning Cost
Cost and lead time are driven by material, bar stock size, diameter, length, thread complexity, groove geometry, tolerance zones, surface finish and inspection requirements.
- Clearly define critical OD, ID, thread and shoulder dimensions.
- Specify thread type, pitch, depth and tolerance requirements.
- Avoid overly deep narrow grooves when design allows.
- Long slender shafts may require additional support or process review.
- Apply tight tolerances only to functional or assembly-critical features.
For broader pricing factors, review CNC machining cost.
